Karen Wambach, PhD, RN, IBCLC is an Associate Professor of Nursing at the University of Kansas School of Nursing, and Consultant Editor: Qualitative Research of the Journal of Human Lactation. Dr. Wambach gained her BSN from the University of Minnesota, and Masters and PhD from the University of Arizona and has been an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant since 1997. She currently is the Director of Research and Special Projects for International Lactation Consultant Association (ILCA) Board of Directors. She teaches research methods, nurse educator, and measurement courses to graduate students at the University of Kansas School of Nursing. Her research program involves issues related to breastfeeding promotion and support, especially in vulnerable populations. Current topics of investigation include:

· Barriers to exclusive breastfeeding among Latino women

· Multibehavior interventions for maternal nutrition, breastfeeding, and maternal mental health
