Not only is this a solid academic text, but it resonates mightily with my students because our enrollment is predominantly female. When seeing themselves through these authors, my students feel empowered. For this and other reasons, this book fills an important void in academic scholarship.
This is an exceptional textbook about the making of public policy and different public policy areas (e.g., environmental policy, health policy). I have been using the nook for 4 years in both undergraduate and graduate courses. It is written in a way that students understand and relate to which is critical to their learning.
