Published quarterly, North American Archaeologist is the only general journal dedicated solely to North America, offering total coverage of archaeological activity in the United States, Canada, and northern Mexico (excluding Mesoamerica). North American Archaeologist surveys all aspects of precontact and historic archaeology, from the peopling of the Americas to the industrial period. It accents the results of Cultural Resource Management, avocational archaeology, and Indigenous archaeology, often neglected in other publications.
This journal is a member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

North American Archaeologist is a quarterly journal dedicated to the archaeology of North America, offering comprehensive coverage of the United States, Canada, northern Mexico, and the Caribbean. Articles span both historic and precontact archaeology, from the peopling of the continent through the industrial period. In addition to traditional academic archaeology, the journal welcomes and encourages manuscripts form critical but often neglected areas, such as cultural resource management and applied archaeology, Indigenous archaeology, public archaeology and outreach, and collaborative avocational endeavors.
