Emerging Media
Emerging Media (ISSN 2752-3543; EISSN 2752-3551) is an international, peer-reviewed academic journal jointly published by the School of Media and Communication at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and SAGE Publishing. Officially launched in September 2023, the journal is indexed in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ).
With an emphasis on diversity, reflexivity, and dialogue, Emerging Media provides a platform that supports diversified perspectives and fosters critical engagement with the global implications of emerging media technologies. The journal publishes four issues per year and welcomes submissions in the form of colloquium, research notes, original research articles, and book reviews. All articles are published open access and are free of article processing charges (APCs).

Emerging Media is an open access peer-reviewed journal focusing on emerging issues and future developments in media and communication, both theoretically and practically. This journal publishes interdisciplinary research and trend discussions in areas such as media development histories, artificial intelligence (AI), information and communication technologies (ICTs), new media application, computer science, mobile technology, user experience design, data science, aesthetics, ethics, cultural studies, as well as social and psychological perspectives. The journal bridges technological innovation, industrial transformation, and socio-cultural analysis, serving as a platform to understand the ongoing reconfiguration of communication and society. Its scope spans three dimensions: technological, industrial & managerial, and social & cultural. Major questions and issues include the followings aspects:
